2025 Toyota Prius
The Prius has come a long way since its turn-of-the-21st-century North American debut. For one thing, its quirky appearance has been transformed with head-turning styling that makes people do a double-take to make sure that the racy specimen they’re looking at is actually the Prius hybrid. The current generation, which began two years ago, also upped the power output to nearly 200 horses, meaning that Prius drivers can enjoy peppy acceleration alongside their fuel savings. The model’s combination of excellent efficiency, Toyota build quality, and practicality (with a cargo area measuring up to 23.8 cubic feet) continues to attract buyers, and the new styling is icing on the cake. There’s even a Nightshade trim now, with on-trend blacked-out components inside and out. ToyotaCare complimentary maintenance is included with every Prius, covering oil changes, tire rotations, and multipoint inspections for 2 years or 25K miles.

Trims and Mechanical Specs
The four trim grades for the 2025 Prius are the LE, XLE, Nightshade, and Limited. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an 83-kW electric motor-generator pair up to put out 194 net horsepower with the standard front-wheel drivetrain (FWD) and 196 hp with the available all-wheel drivetrain (AWD). The AWD versions have a smaller second motor (30 kW) mounted at the rear axle. An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) is standard regardless of the driveline.
The LE is the fuel economy, achieving an EPA-estimated 57 mpg around town and 56 mpg on the highway; with AWD it returns 53 city/54 highway. The other trims are officially rated for 52 city/52 highway with FWD and 49 city/50 highway with AWD.

The base LE comes with driver’s door proximity keyless entry, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, climate control (one zone), push-button start, LED exterior lighting with auto-on/off headlamps, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, heated power side-view mirrors, a tonneau cover for the cargo area, six USB ports, and 17-inch alloy wheels with covers. The XLE adds proximity keyless entry for the front doors and rear hatch, SofTex (simulated leather) upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, rain-sensing variable intermittent windshield wipers, a wireless device charging pad, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The XLE and Nightshade are both eligible to add on a fixed-glass roof and digital rearview mirror. The plush Limited gets the fixed glass roof as standard, along with heated and ventilated front seats, a power rear hatch, driver's-side memory, and a digital key. The digital rearview mirror is an option, as are heated rear seats.
Advanced Safety Technology
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is the standard bundle of driver-assist technologies that equips every ’25 Prius with intelligent cruise control, automatic high beams, forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-tracing assist, proactive driving assist (provides additional steering and braking support), and road sign assist. Every trim also gets safe exit assist and a rear seat reminder. LE buyers can add front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking, but the other trims get it as a standard feature. The Limited is eligible for a surround-view monitor and semi-autonomous parking.
