"I'm a car guy. I'm the tinkerer. I like to work on things in general. I've been told I have an obsession with car parts."

Bob is not just a service advisor here; he's a service advisor with a strong passion and commitment for what he does. Bob attended the Universal Technical Institute in 2005, and since then has had experiences in other dealerships that have led up to his job at Bernardi Toyota.

After his time at Universal Technical Institute, Bob worked for Mercedes-Benz and then Volvo, where he was a technician. After those, he moved to South Carolina and was a tech at another Mercedes-Benz dealership. He then moved to Massachusetts and became a Honda tech, and then became a Chevrolet tech after that. Now... After his timeline and history of servicing other dealerships, he is now a service advisor at Bernardi Toyota.

So, what does it take to be a service advisor? "A background knowledge on cars is definitely helpful," explained Bob. "Knowing what parts are and how they work, and it's important to make sure you have customer service skills."

The most challenging part, according to Bob, is being able to successfully explain to customers what types of service needs to be done on their vehicles. Having to break it down may be a challenge at times, but it's also rewarding for Bob and the service team to assist and help our customers learn the parts of their cars. Not a single client leaves our service department unaware of what took place in regards to the service on their car.

Seeing roughly 125-160 customers a day, Bob explained that he likes the fast-paced environment, especially with our recent renovations, making it possible to see more clients at a time.

"Our service department is set up to handle volume, and the capacity of the dealership is big enough to handle anything," said Bob. "I am the link between the client and the technician. I communicate repairs that are needed and relay the information between the client and the tech."

When Bob isn't working at the dealership, you can find him on the road in one of his three cars (yes, three), at six flags riding roller coasters, or traveling on a cruise or to a different state. Bob enjoys adventures that are fast-paced. Being in a fast-paced environment is where Bob thrives, such as our dealership. You can give Bob a visit at our service desk with any questions regarding your vehicle. You're in good hands at Bernardi Toyota with experienced and reliable advisors.
