2025 Toyota Camry

The Toyota Camry is royalty in the realm of midsized cars, especially in the United States, where it has long dominated sales in its segment. That applies to both the new and preowned market, as the Camry has built a legendary reputation for longevity and high resale value. For model year 2025, this unprecedentedly popular four-door is once again undergoing a significant redesign.

Following the Camry’s last revamping (for model year 2018), the upcoming generation raises standards even higher with its updated design, enhanced amenities, and, perhaps most notably, a standard hybrid powertrain. With the ninth-generation Camry exclusively powered by the Toyota Hybrid System, the company will be well in line with its goal of forging a carbon neutral future.

Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Efficiency

The redesigned 2025 Camry is presented in four trim levels: LE, SE, XLE, and XSE. All are powered by the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5), which combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with either one or two electric motors. With the single-motor FWD setup, the Camry will produce 225 horsepower, but with dual-motor AWD, output increases to 232 hp. The LE is the most efficient of the four options, as the FWD configuration pulls off an EPA-rated 53 mpg in the city and 50 mpg on the highway. The remaining FWD trims return 48 city/47 highway. With AWD, the LE gets 51 city/49 highway, while the AWD SE and XLE achieve 46 mpg in the city and on the highway (44 city/43 highway with the AWD XSE).

Leading Amenities

The Camry LE makes a standout first impression with dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, push-button start, heated power-adjustable side mirrors with turn-signal and blind-spot warning indicators, a noise-reducing windshield, five USB ports (a mix of Type A and Type C), fabric upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, an overhead console sunglasses holder, automatic on/off bi-LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and a 12-volt power outlet. The SE moves up to upholstery in a combination of SofTex and fabric, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, a leather-wrapped shift knob, a rear spoiler, a black rear lower diffuser, chrome exhaust tips, racing-inspired air curtains and front side canards, a black mesh grille, and aluminum pedals.

The XLE takes after the LE, but adds leather- and microfiber-trimmed multi-stage heated front seats, a power passenger’s seat, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, proximity keyless entry with touch-sensor lock/unlock, ambient interior lighting (white), dual LED projector headlights, LED taillights, two-tone wheels, noise-reducing glass, and adjustable rear headrests. The XSE is a mix between the SE and XLE, boasting the former’s sporty flair and the latter’s luxurious features. Along with that, it gets full leather upholstery and is eligible for a more dramatic two-tone exterior color scheme.

Toyota Safety Sense Driving Aids

The Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0) system of advanced driving tech is standard in the redesigned Camry. Every trim has a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, and proactive driving assist. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard, as are safe exit alert, a rear-seat reminder, and a backup camera with dynamic gridlines.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The standard infotainment system in the ’25 Camry has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, a six-speaker sound system, and a 30-day free trial to the Wi-Fi Connect onboard hotspot. The two lower trims have an 8-inch touchscreen. The XLE and XSE move up to a 12.3-inch touchscreen and add a one-year trial to Drive Connect, which bundles Cloud Navigation with Google Points of Interest, Intelligent Assistance voice recognition, and Destination Assist. Getting Drive Connect with the other trims requires a paid subscription.
