2025 Toyota Crown
Although the Crown is Toyotaās flagship sedan outside of the United States, the nameplate was brought here for model year 2023. Its aerodynamic profile is accented by higher ground clearance than is average for a sedan, lending a more athletic and aggressive appearance. But thereās more than looks setting apart the 2025 Toyota Crown. Every trim is equipped with a hybrid powerplant and all-wheel drive, meaning that this car is both efficient and capable.
Toyota reinforces the Crownās dynamic presence by adding a new trim, the Nightshade Edition, to the lineup for 2025. Dominated by black-finished accents and other exclusive touches, the Nightshade Edition presents a sporty take to an already confident-looking vehicle. In another change for 2025, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats all come standard across the board.

Trims and Powertrains
Toyota offers the all-wheel-drive 2025 Crown in four versions: XLE, Limited, Nightshade, and Platinum. The first three trims have a hybrid powerplant consisting of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and dual electric motors (one per axle), for a combined output of 236 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) rounds out the main mechanical picture. The Platinum gets a dual electric motor hybrid drivetrain as well, but in this case itās based on a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, which Toyota calls the Hybrid MAX. This powerplant is managed by a six-speed automatic transmission and makes 340 combined horsepower.
As estimated by the EPA, fuel economy for the XLE, Limited, and Nightshade is 42 mpg around town and 41 mpg on the open road. The Platinum is rated to return 29 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
Standard Features
Toyota equips the Crown XLE with a long list of standard features, including leather-trimmed seating, heated and ventilated eight-way power front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control. It also has proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a 12.3-inch driver information display, LED exterior lighting, heated power side mirrors with power-fold, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, wireless device charging, five USB ports (three in the front, two in the back), and 19-inch alloy wheels.
The Limited goes further upscale with a panoramic fixed-glass roof with a power sunshade, a driver's memory system, upgraded quad-LED headlights, and rain-sensing intermittent windshield wipers. The Nightshade starts with the Limitedās features and adds unique exterior treatments like black accents, exclusive badging, and 21-inch matte-black-finish wheels. The Platinum expands on the Limited with dynamic rear steering, an adaptive variable suspension, a head-up display, a power trunk with a hands-free kick sensor, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a digital key, and 21-inch alloy wheels.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is installed on every 2025 Crown. The system has pre-collision mitigation (with pedestrian detection), blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, and adaptive cruise control. The modelās additional technologies include proactive driving assist (additional braking and steering support), road sign assist, safe exit assist, automatic high beams, and a rear-seat reminder. All grades except the XLE have front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking. A surround-view monitor, front cross-traffic alert, traffic jam assist, and lane change assist are standard on the Platinum and available for the Limited. All trims have eight airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, Smart Stop (to minimize unintended acceleration), hill start assist, and a rear-view monitor.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The 2025 Toyota Crown features an infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen plus wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio. All trims have access to Toyota connected services for cloud-based navigation, emergency assistance, remote features, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The XLE has a six-speaker sound system, while the Limited and above are upgraded with an 11-speaker JBL setup.
