Maybe you've heard of the Toyota Camry Effect interactive campaign. Within the Camry Effect social network, former and current Toyota Camry owners are urged to share their memories and stories involving their Camry vehicles. Over the past thirty years, the Toyota Camry has been one of the most reliable and beloved sedans to hit the U.S. market. In fact, there are currently over 7 million Camry owners in America. Now, Toyota has extended the Camry Effect network to include a contest, in which the winner receives a new 2012 Toyota Camry for him/herself and a friend of his/her choice.
For this contest, Toyota has partnered with Shazam, a Smart-Phone based music identification service. This partnership will lead to the first endeavor of this magnitude for Shazam, and will increase awareness of the Camry Effect across the country. The extended advertisement effort will begin with Camry owner-based videos, including a full-length "Connections" advertisement. Those videos can be seen here (http://www.toyota.com/camryeffect/#!/videos/). As a Toyota press release explains, "The 'Connections' spot is part of an innovative approach aimed at increasing viewer engagement with the Camry Effect. A fully integrated experience across multiple platforms is created by connecting television, online, mobile and social media activities together. The campaign is supported by broadcast and digital media, as well as a robust web portal, mobile experience and targeted social media efforts."1. Interested drivers can fill out an entry form from Shazam online. The winner will be announced February 5th.
